SD48 BC Electronic Student Information System (BCeSIS)BCeSIS (BC Electronic Student Information System) is the common student information system for the Province of British Columbia. The development and implementation of BCeSIS is a collaborative effort between BC school districts and the Ministry of Education. The number of districts that have agreed to share BCeSIS has grown to 48 public school districts and 27 independent schools. In total, these organizations provide services to over 450,000 students in British Columbia. School District 48 has implemented BCeSIS in all schools. BCeSIS provides access to a central student registry and permanent student record. BCeSIS reduces the administrative burden on teachers and schools, enables student flexibility and choice, and enhances communication between homes, classrooms and educational leaders as well as facilitating collection and movement of student records. BCeSIS will provide parents, teachers, principals, planning councils and educational leaders with an efficient, Internet accessible tool to manage student information and make informed educational decisions.
