News Release"Dialogues on the Future"February 21, 2007 Board of School Trustees Releases "Dialogues on the Future" Report; Seeks Public Feedback. The Board of School Trustees has released an Interim Report summarizing the findings and recommendations that came out of seven "Dialogues on the Future" community meetings held last October in Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. Board Chair Dave Walden said the purpose of the meetings was to review the School District 's Vision and Mission Statements and the Core Values which serve as the foundation for district policy, programs and other initiatives. " The Olympic Corridor has undergone many changes in recent years and these important guides to our actions need updating," he said. The Board has decided to release the Interim Report now to obtain as much feedback as possible before preparing the final report. The K-12 system is a public system and our Board wants to be sure that our local communities have every opportunity to shape its future. Our children deserve an education that reflects our values and prepares them for future success. The Interim Report and a feedback Questionnaire are available on the district website (www.sd48.bc.ca) or from the district office or any neighbourhood school. There is also an online version of the questionnaire that can be filled out on the district website. Feedback will be received up to March 2, 2007 .
